If you’re a fan of Preacher or Supernatural, get your headphones ready. A brand new audio drama called Minefire just hit iTunes and podcatchers everwhere.
It follows Rob Circo, an aimless twenty-something slacker searching for answers after his father’s suicide. When Rob and his girlfriend summon the spirit of the hilariously demonic Azrael, they find themselves at the center of a cosmic conflict that threatens to unravel the balance of heaven and hell.
The show’s creator Paul Miscavage (a cast member on 1994) plans for the first season of Minefire to run eight episodes.
I’ve been lucky enough to read the early scripts, and the show wastes no time rushing into wild, haunting fun. It’s great for Urban Fantasy and Horror crowds, with plenty of humor to take the edge off the darkness. James Olivia (What’s The Frequency, Greater Boston, 1994) shines in his role as Azrael the demon and headlines a cast that includes Tanja Milojevic, Sean McKeown, Karim Kronfli, Iri Alexander and Jack Pevyhouse.
